Mechanical Engineer
Primary responsibilities include:
Engineering design of HVAC ductwork, piping, plumbing, medical gas, fire, and other mechanical systems within the market sectors in which SGA ENGINEERS currently specializes within.
Detailed design within AutoCAD and or Revit software.
Experience with load calculation software approved by DOE or USGBC for energy modeling.
Has a comprehensive understanding of all permitting within area of expertise including local, state and federal agencies.
Performs field reviews, certifications and post design services.
Identifies, develops and implements technical tools, techniques, software, materials and processes to optimize efficiencies and quality.
Actively contributes ideas, expertise and recommendations based upon industry knowledge.
Performs technical and quality reviews of plans and specifications.
Participates in client, agency, and consultant meetings.
Prepares/Reviews fee and scope documents for clients.
Assist with the preparation of inventory assessments, analyses, and reports.
Preparation of all associated calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
Assist with the development of professional services proposals.
Be involved in all project aspects including design/study development and site/field visits during design and construction.
Lead technical design of several projects from pre-design through construction closeout.
Interface with other engineers, architects, clients, contractors, vendors, and owners in a team environment.
Minimum requirements to be considered for this role are:
Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
Willingness to learn federal, state, and local building codes as it relates to consulting.
Excellent communication skills through written and oral methods.
Ability to address several projects at any point in time.
Additional information:
Engineer-in-Training certificate is preferred, but not required.
Role will require local/regional travel on occasion for site observations and design charrettes.
